Oat variety Desnyansky was created by individual selection from a hybrid population obtained by crossing varieties Astor and Los-3. This variety was included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 1998 and is intended for cultivation in the forest-steppe and Polissia zones. Desnyansky oat belongs to the mutica variety, has a semi-erect awn of 18-22 cm in length with lateral branches diverging upward at an acute angle from the stem. Spikelet bracts of medium length and width, almost without awns. Grain is white, well-filled, large with a blunt tip, 100-seed mass is 34-41 g. Protein content in the grain ranges from 12.1-12.4 %.
The variety is medium-maturing, plant height reaches 90-110 cm. It is characterized by resistance to diseases such as rust, crown rust, and stem rust. In addition, Desnyansky oat exhibits good resistance to lodging (4.5-4.9 points), shattering (4.8-4.9 points), and drought (4.4-4.6 points), making it a reliable choice for various climatic conditions. Yield of the variety ranges from 55.0 to 60.6 centners per hectare, indicating its high productivity.
Desnyansky oat seeds are suitable for both commercial and home cultivation. They are characterized by good germination and quality, confirmed by selection from reputable suppliers. Due to these properties, this variety is popular among farmers, ensuring stable and high yields.
