Iren

The Iren oat variety is one of the best hybrid naked oats, distinguished by high yield and valuable grain. It was developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAN of Ukraine and has been included in the State Register of Plant Varieties of Ukraine since 2014. Iren features a two-row spike with spikelets containing 2-3 grains, as well as a large awn. The vegetative period of this variety ranges from 72 to 81 days, ensuring timely maturation of the crop.

This variety is widely used in the food industry for preparing dietary products, as well as in feed production. Thanks to its high yield of grain fractions over 2.5 mm and high technological efficiency, Iren is suitable for manufacturing most types of malt. Moreover, the variety is characterized by high extractability, making it especially valuable for processing.

Iren possesses high ecological plasticity and strong resistance to lodging, shattering, and a broad spectrum of diseases, including fungal diseases, powdery mildew, and crown rust. It is recommended for cultivation in the steppe and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, confirming its adaptability to various climatic conditions.
