Oat Iren

Yield Stability in Short Growing Cycles

The «Iren» oat variety, developed by the Institute of Grain Crops of NAAS of Ukraine, is a strategic choice for producers who prioritize yield consistency and cost efficiency. Unlike late-maturing varieties prone to summer drought stress, Iren is an early-maturing cultivar (80–95 days). This short cycle allows for harvesting before peak heat stress, ensuring better grain quality.

Agronomic Advantages

Fungal diseases are a major challenge for oat production, often causing significant losses. Iren stands out due to its strong genetic resistance to powdery mildew and rust. This natural robustness reduces the dependency on frequent fungicide applications, making it an economically attractive option for cost-conscious farming operations.

• Harvest Security: High resistance to shattering provides a wider harvest window, which is crucial for managing operations during unpredictable weather conditions.
• Market Versatility: The grain meets high food industry standards, ensuring liquidity in the market. It is equally suitable for milling and processing into cereals or as a premium, high-energy component for animal feed.

Who should choose Iren? This variety is ideal for agricultural businesses operating in regions susceptible to mid-summer droughts and those aiming for a high-quality yield with optimized inputs. Iren is a reliable, low-maintenance variety that balances stability, ease of cultivation, and a wide range of applications from human consumption to specialized livestock nutrition.
