Description BEAR
Spring oat of the «Bear» variety is a mid-season variety with a vegetative period ranging from 84 to 102 days. It ripens a few days earlier or later than some standard varieties, allowing flexible use under various agro-climatic conditions. The plant is of medium length, belongs to the mutica type, has a semi-erect bush, and a two-sided ear with horizontally arranged branches. The ears droop, the grain is large, the weight of 1000 seeds varies from 34 to 46 grams, indicating good yield potential.

The «Bear» variety is characterized by medium drought resistance and resistance to shattering, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in the Volga-Vyatsk region and Central Russia. It is moderately susceptible to powdery bunt and has low susceptibility to bacterial burn, crown and stem rust, as well as medium resistance to red-brown spotting. Lodging resistance is slightly lower compared to some standard varieties, but overall, the variety demonstrates good adaptability and stability under various conditions.

The grain quality of the «Bear» variety is highly valued due to the protein content of 11.5 to 14.3%, crude protein of about 13.74%, and kernel yield of up to 68%. The grain natural weight ranges from 420 to 575 g/l, indicating grain density and quality. The maximum yield achieved under optimal conditions is 72.4 c/ha, while the average yield in the region is about 40.1 c/ha. These characteristics make the «Bear» variety attractive for agricultural producers focused on obtaining high-quality and stable oat yields.
