Chernihivskiy 28

Oat variety "Chernihivskiy 28" is a medium-late, awned type, intended for fodder and cereal use. The vegetation period ranges from 70 to 116 days, depending on growing conditions, with the variety maturing 6-7 days later than regional analogs. Plants reach a height of 120-155 cm, have an upright bush form with a strong hollow stem and broad light-green leaves. The grain is light-colored, well-formed with a blunt tip, with 1000-grain weight varying from 30 to 38 grams, and protein content ranging from 14-17%.

The variety "Chernihivskiy 28" is characterized by high yield: grain yield potential reaches 56-60 c/ha, and green mass yield — from 300 to 520 c/ha. It exhibits good drought resistance and relatively high resistance to lodging. A distinctive feature of the variety is moderate susceptibility to pustular and stem rust, with minimal damage from wireworm. The ear is semi-late, 20-30 cm long, with lateral branches diverging at a sharp angle and practically no awns.

The variety was developed by individual selection from a hybrid population obtained by crossing varieties "Mirny" and "Los-3". Due to its characteristics and resistance to adverse factors, "Chernihivskiy 28" is a reliable choice for cultivation in various climatic conditions of Ukraine, ensuring stable and high yields of both grain and fodder green mass.
