The «Komes» oat variety is a product of the Polish breeding company Danko Hodowla Roslin Sp.z.o.o., engineered for intensive farming systems. The variety demonstrates a balanced biology, where early maturity (a vegetation period of 80–95 days) is combined with high environmental plasticity. This allows for efficient water utilization during the first half of the summer, avoiding peak thermal stress during the grain-filling phase.

Morphological characteristics of the grain

A key feature of the variety is its yellow grain color and excellent seed uniformity. The thousand-kernel weight (TKW) ranges from 32 to 36 grams. This grain density ensures an optimal milling yield, making «Komes» sought after not only in the feed segment but also in the food processing industry. High specific weight directly correlates with technical performance in the production of oat flakes and flour.
