FEROE pea is a mid-late maturing variety with a vegetation period of about 71 days. The plant is indeterminate type with short internodes and stem height up to 85 cm. Pods have dark green color, slightly curved shape with pointed apex and length up to 10 cm. Each pod forms 10 to 12 sweet peas, possessing tender and juicy texture, which ensures high taste and market qualities of the product.
The variety is characterized by high stable yield, reaching 15.3 t/ha, and adaptability to growing conditions, which is especially important under water deficit. FEROE pea has high resistance to a wide spectrum of pests and diseases, including bacterial blight (Pseudomonas), as well as high cold tolerance and resistance to lodging, which minimizes losses during harvest and contributes to maintaining grain quality.
FEROE is recommended for fresh consumption, and is suitable for canning and freezing due to its taste qualities and structure. The variety is an excellent alternative to bright peas, especially in dry regions, and is characterized by cold tolerance, which expands its growing possibilities in various climatic conditions.
