Mustard Yunona

Field Performance of the «Yunona» Mustard

For farm operators, «Yunona» is a reliable choice for crop rotation planning. With a maturity cycle of 75–85 days, it fits perfectly into standard schedules, allowing for predictable field management. The plant height of 60–90 cm provides an ideal biomass volume for green manure, which simplifies incorporation into the soil.

Efficiency and Operational Insight

From an operational standpoint, the variety is highly manageable. The essential oil content (0.5–1.0%) keeps the crop safe and compatible with standard feed processing requirements. It responds well to standard tillage and seeding practices, meaning no specialized equipment or high maintenance is needed to achieve consistent results.

• Green Manure Utility: rapid growth cycle helps in soil conditioning between main harvests.
• Fodder Production: reliable biomass density suitable for efficient harvesting.
• Mechanical Compatibility: consistent plant height ensures smooth operation for field machinery.

Developed by the Pustovoit All-Russian Research Institute of Oil Crops, «Yunona» offers a practical balance between growth speed and ease of cultivation. It is a workhorse crop that minimizes equipment stress and maximizes soil productivity. Whether you are managing it for soil health or feed, the predictability of this variety reduces downtime and keeps operations running smoothly.
