Natalia

The Natalia carrot is a mid-late variety of the Nantaise type, developed by the Dutch company Syngenta Seeds B.V. This variety is distinguished by a maturation period from germination to technical ripeness of 130-135 days and high yield. The root crops are cylindrical, perfectly smooth, 20-22 cm in length, with a blunt tip and a rich bright orange color without a green top. The Natalia carrot has an increased sugar content (9-10%) and a high level of carotene, which ensures excellent taste qualities and makes it a valuable source of vitamins for health.

The Natalia variety is recommended for growing on light, well-aerated and slightly acidic soils that warm up well. It does not tolerate fresh organic fertilizers and is unsuitable for early sowing, as it does not like cold soil. The optimal sowing depth is 1-2 cm, and the sowing scheme is 20x4 cm. Plant care includes thinning, weeding, and loosening the rows between plants. Excess nitrogen and moisture can slow down root crop growth, so a sufficient level of potassium is necessary for normal development.

The Natalia carrot is characterized by excellent shelf life and can be stored for up to 8 months, which makes it convenient for long-term winter storage and consumption in a fresh state. The root crops retain their bright color after washing and require careful manual harvesting due to their elegant shape. This variety is a modification of the popular Dutch Nantaise carrot and is recognized as one of the best in terms of taste among representatives of this varietal group.
