The Samson carrot is a mid-late high-yielding variety with large cylindrical root crops of intense dark orange color. The weight of one root crop ranges from 150 to 200 grams, and the pulp is distinguished by exceptional juiciness and high carrotene content, making this variety particularly healthy and tasty. Due to its characteristics, the Samson carrot is suitable for both fresh consumption and long-term storage, maintaining its qualities over time.
This variety is characterized by plasticity and good adaptation to various growing conditions. The Samson carrot is light-loving and requires moderately moist, fertile, and loose soil. To ensure uniform germination, it is recommended to soak the seeds in room-temperature water for a day and then dry them at 15-16°C until crumbly. Sowing is done at a depth of 2-5 cm with a sowing rate of about 0.3 g per square meter. Plants reach a height of about 40 cm, and the distance between them during planting should be approximately 50 cm.
The variety is suitable for autumn and spring sowing, with optimal planting dates from March to May. The Samson carrot has good frost resistance and can withstand zones with frosts of 7-8. At the same time, the culture requires infrequent but regular watering to maintain the necessary soil moisture level. Thanks to its qualities and ease of care, the Samson carrot is an excellent choice for growing both in personal gardens and in commercial agriculture.
