Description Yukon
Yukon carrot is an early-maturing, high-yielding hybrid of European selection, distinguished by excellent taste qualities and high productivity. The period from full germination to technical maturity is 100-110 days, which allows for harvest in a short time. The roots have a cylindrical shape with a blunt end, a length of 17 to 20 cm and a weight of 80 to 160 grams, which makes them convenient for use in various culinary purposes.

This carrot variety is distinguished by bright orange coloration of both the peel and the core, indicating high carotene and other beneficial substances content. Yukon carrot is suitable for fresh consumption as well as for short-term storage. Thanks to its taste qualities and shape, it is excellent for preparing salads, side dishes and canning.

For successful cultivation of Yukon carrot, sowing is recommended at the end of April - beginning of May in moistened furrows to a depth of 1-1.5 cm with a distance between plants of 3-4 cm. Regular weeding, loosening of interrows and watering in dry weather as well as protection from pests are necessary throughout the season. Harvest should be carried out before the onset of autumn frosts in dry weather, which will allow to preserve the quality and taste of the roots.
