Giant Miscanthus (Miscanthus giganteus) – a perennial grass plant that has become a popular industrial crop in various sectors due to its high yield and rapid growth. Its unique ability to accumulate cellulose makes it a valuable raw material for the production of biofuels, paper products, and building materials.
In landscape design, miscanthus is used as a decorative element: dense clusters of dark green leaves create an impressive texture, while autumn colors in orange-yellow and red tones add vibrancy. The plant grows well in full sun and partial shade, is frost-resistant, making it ideal for lawns, water bodies, dry compositions, and as an accent element in gardens.
Bio-concrete made from ground and mineralized giant miscanthus raw material is used in construction. Lightweight blocks, panels, and thermal-/acoustic insulation boards made from this material are used in both civil and agricultural construction. The raw material is pre-dried and processed, which allows it to be used as an aggregate in "green" concrete, increasing eco-friendliness and reducing the carbon footprint of traditional building materials.
