DACHNITSA

The Datchnitsa melon variety is an early-maturing plant with a vegetative period of 65-70 days. The plant is moderately sprawling, which ensures ease of care and formation. Fruits of this variety differ in round or oval shape, with smooth skin or covered with a continuous net pattern in yellow-orange color. Fruit mass varies from 1.4 to 2.0 kg, making them quite large and attractive for consumers.

The flesh of the Datchnitsa melon is white or cream-colored, crunchy, juicy, and sweet with a bright melon aroma. It has a granular structure and a soft texture, providing pleasant taste sensations. The high marketability of the fruits allows harvesting 3-4 quality fruits per bush, which is advantageous for commercial growing and personal consumption.

The variety is suitable for growing both in film greenhouses and in open ground, especially in southern regions. For successful growing, sowing for seedlings in April with subsequent transplanting at the end of May – beginning of June at the age of 30-35 days is recommended. Plants are placed according to the scheme 70x150 cm. During growth, up to a height of 50 cm, side shoots must be removed, and then pinched off above 1-3 leaves. Irrigation should be moderate, especially during fruit ripening, which contributes to the formation of a quality yield.
