Melon Tiger

Compactness as a Competitive Edge

Working with the 'Tigrovaya' variety means shifting toward a portioned-fruit strategy, which streamlines both logistics and sales. With an average fruit weight of 0.5 to 1.0 kg, this melon is perfectly sized for modern retail. Each fruit serves as a convenient, single-serving portion, eliminating the need for slicing and reducing inventory waste.

Agronomic Management

Developed by Gavrish and the Russian Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding (VNIISSOK), this variety is bred for stability in variable climates. For the operator, this means less time spent on damage control and more focus on yield optimization. Its compact growth habit allows for higher planting density, maximizing production per hectare.

• Harvesting: The distinctive orange-yellow skin acts as a reliable ripeness indicator. This visual cue allows field crews to grade crops on the fly without complex sugar-level testing or fruit piercing.
• Logistics: The small size enables efficient stacking in standard crates. The rind is durable enough to withstand mechanical handling during transport, minimizing the bruising often seen in larger, softer varieties.
• Maintenance: The plant is structurally predictable, requiring minimal pruning. This helps control labor costs throughout the growing season by reducing the need for constant canopy management.

For growers looking to minimize post-harvest losses and simplify the supply chain, 'Tigrovaya' offers a highly efficient, user-friendly solution that perfectly aligns with current consumer demand for single-portion produce.
