Melon Sevinta

Sevinta watermelon is an early Japanese-type hybrid with a vegetative period of 65-70 days from seedling transplant. This variety is characterized by vigorous growth, a strong root system, and abundant foliage, ensuring good fruit set even under high temperatures and drought conditions. Thanks to its branched root system, the plant effectively withstands adverse conditions and exhibits high resistance to common diseases, including Fusarium wilt and powdery mildew.

The fruits of Sevinta watermelon are round and weigh between 1.5 to 2.5 kg. The rind is gray-green with a dense netting, while the flesh has a rich orange hue, is thick, very sweet, and juicy. The flesh sugar content reaches 14-15%, imparting a delicate honey-caramel aroma and a pleasant sweet flavor to the fruits. Watermelon Sevinta tolerates heat well and has high storability and transportability, retaining its market quality for up to a month after harvest.

Sevinta is suitable for cultivation both in open fields and in greenhouses or under plastic coverings. This hybrid is low-maintenance, can thrive without irrigation, and is widely used for fresh market sales as well as processing.
