Alcarez F1 is a mid-season, high-yielding hybrid of the Piel de Sapo variety, developed by the Dutch company Enza Zaden. This hybrid is intended for cultivation in open ground or under plastic covers, with a vegetative period of 70 to 85 days from transplanting seedlings to harvest. The plant is characterized by strength, powerful growth, and good foliage, which helps it quickly overcome stressful conditions and adapt to various care methods. Alcarez F1 exhibits high resistance to a number of melon diseases, including Fom (race 0,1), MNSV, as well as medium resistance to Px and Ag. The melon fruits have an oval shape with dark green skin covered by a light relief netting. Average fruit weight varies from 2.5 to 4 kg. The flesh is snow-white, dense, crisp, juicy, and has an inimitable taste, which intensifies after short-term storage. The melon differs in high sugar content and aroma, making it particularly attractive to consumers. Thanks to the dense flesh and quality skin, the fruits are well preserved for a long time. One of the key advantages of the Alcarez hybrid is its ability to long-term storage – the crop retains its taste qualities and even gains sweetness during storage up to six months. This makes the variety ideal for marketing over a prolonged period after harvest. Melon seeds are packaged in packs of 250 pieces and can be sown both by direct sowing and through seedlings, ensuring flexibility in cultivation methods and allowing for stable and high yields.
