Description SITNIK
Sitnik is a perennial rhizomatous herbaceous plant belonging to ornamental grasses, characterized by its frost resistance and high moisture-loving nature. The stems of sitnik are cylindrical, narrow, and a rich green color, sometimes with a flat cross-section, reaching heights from 40 to 120 cm. Leaves are absent, and flowers are gathered in loose panicles of a brownish-brown shade, appearing from June to August. In autumn, the plant changes color to yellow, then brown, creating a bright vertical accent in the landscape, especially in wet areas. Sitnik prefers sunny or semi-shaded locations and grows excellently on marshy territories, aquatic body banks, and even in saline soil conditions. Thanks to its undemanding nature and frost resistance, it does not require special care and is resistant to pests and diseases. Active growth is observed in spring and autumn, and the plant reproduces by rhizome division, allowing it to quickly spread and create dense thickets. In autumn, it is recommended to cut the stems to ground level to maintain the decorative appearance. Thanks to its ability to grow in extreme conditions and attractive appearance, sitnik is widely used for greening of banks, water bodies, and in decorative compositions such as alpine slides and rockeries. Its clear graphic forms and tubular stems give the garden a special structure and aesthetic expressiveness, making the plant a universal element of landscape design.
