Description Forward
The Forward onion variety is a mid-season variety with a period from full germination to mass leaf lodging of 100-110 days. The bulbs have an oval or flat-round shape and weigh 100-110 grams. They are characterized by a semi-sharp taste, golden-yellow color of dry scales, and white color of juicy scales. Thanks to these qualities, the variety is popular for both one-year and two-year cultivation.

The Forward variety is distinguished by high storability and excellent transportability, which allows for long-term storage of bulbs without loss of taste and quality characteristics. This makes it particularly suitable for long-term storage and use during the winter period. Yield is stable and abundant, ensuring a good result when growing.

Growing Forward onion requires adherence to certain agrotechnical methods. In a one-year culture, seeds are sown for seedlings in March, and seedling planting in open ground is carried out in early May. For a two-year culture, seed sowing is carried out directly into open ground in late April–early May at a depth of about 1 cm with rows 30x4 cm apart. Plant care includes regular weeding, watering, and fertilization. Irrigation is stopped one month before harvest, and collection begins when leaves lie down by about 60%.
