Description ROSA DI FERENCE
Rosa Di Ference onion, also known as Rossa Lunga di Firenze, is a medium-early, high-yielding variety with a growing period of 80 to 100 days. The plant is of medium height — about 30-35 cm, with dark green leaves covered with a waxy coating. The bulbs have an oval-elongated shape of medium size and are colored dark purple both outside and inside. The onion flesh is tender, juicy, and crisp, with a mild sweet taste, making it particularly attractive for fresh consumption and in salads.

This onion variety is characterized by high bulb density and excellent upper scale retention, which contributes to good storage and processing. Rossa Lunga di Firenze is ideally suited for cultivation on fertile, well-cultivated soils with sufficient moisture and high humus content. Thanks to its taste qualities and bright color, this red onion greatly enhances the flavor of various dishes — from raw salads and cold sauces to baked and cooked dishes, and is an excellent addition to sandwiches and hamburgers.

Sowing seeds is recommended directly into the ground from March to June, while too dense germination in May-June may be interrupted. Harvest lasts from May to October, allowing the use of onions during the summer-autumn period. Thanks to its characteristics and versatility of application, Rosa Di Ference onion is an excellent choice for a home garden and commercial cultivation.
