Alfalfa Zaikevicha

Stability and reliability: why farmers choose «Zaykevycha»

The «Zaykevycha» alfalfa variety is a staple of traditional breeding, having proven itself as a reliable choice for fields with variable climates for decades. In intensive livestock farming, where the quality and volume of forage determine profitability, this variety remains a gold standard for resilience.

Agronomic performance and plant health

The key advantage of this selection is its high field tolerance to diseases that critically reduce alfalfa productivity in regions with excessive moisture or temperature fluctuations. «Zaykevycha» demonstrates strong resistance to:

• Fusarium wilt;
• Powdery mildew;
• Root rot.

Biological characteristics allow the plant to reach a height of 70–90 cm, ensuring an optimal balance between vegetative mass and leaf coverage. This morphology promotes rapid regrowth after each cut, which is crucial for operations targeting 3–4 cuts per growing season.

Market position and field application

The variety belongs to a generation of crops focused on producing high-protein hay and haylage. Unlike foreign hybrids that often require strict adherence to intensive feeding protocols, «Zaykevycha» is more adaptive to diverse soil and climatic conditions. This makes it a preferred choice for farms aiming to minimize production risks. Consistent yields over 3–5 years of use make this an economically sound investment.
