Description
Alekseevskaya 1 — a variety of variable alfalfa (Medicago sativa L. nothosubsp. varia), intended for cultivation in various regions, including the Central and Ural regions. The plant is characterized by a semi-erect bush type and medium height in spring. The time of flowering varies from early to medium, which allows for effective use of the variety in agrotechnical cycles. Leaves have a medium green coloration, and flowers are predominantly blue-violet, indicating stable botanical traits of the variety.
The variety is distinguished by high yield: average yield of green mass reaches 354.5 c/ha, hay — 80.5 c/ha, and seed yield is 2.1 c/ha. In terms of fodder value, Alekseevskaya 1 outperforms the Belgorodskaya 86 variety, providing 21% more green mass, 20.8% more hay, and 15.5% higher protein content in the fodder mass, which is 18.1%. Fiber content in the plant reaches 24.5%, which contributes to good digestibility of feed by animals.
Alfalfa Alekseevskaya 1 is a perennial legume crop, widely used as fodder, forage honey plant, and green manure. Thanks to symbiosis with nitrogen-fixing bacteria, it accumulates nitrogen in roots and soil, improving fertility and serving as an excellent predecessor for cereals and other agricultural crops. With proper care and irrigation conditions, the variety can yield up to 8-10 cuttings with high green mass yield, making it a valuable component in livestock rations and agrotechnical systems.
