Description Mezzo
Blue Clover Mezzo is a mid-late variety with high yield and resistance to lodging. This variety is distinguished by excellent resistance to nematodes and Verticillium wilt, ensuring stability and reliability in cultivation. Mezzo is characterized by high dry matter and protein content, achieving a dry matter yield of nearly 18 tons per year, as well as a high protein percentage, providing significant protein yield per hectare. Its dormancy period classification is 4, which is important for crop rotation planning and sowing timing.

The plant has a semi-erect or intermediate plant type, with medium stem length at full bloom. Flowers are predominantly blue-purple, with low frequency of other shades. Plant height varies depending on stage and number of cuttings: after the first cutting it is tall, after the second — medium-high, and after the third — low. Average yield in the Central region is 84.5 c/ha, 10% higher than the standard, and in the Volga-Vyatka region — 92.6 c/ha, 13.7% higher than the standard. Maximum yields reach 280.2 c/ha and 311 c/ha respectively, confirming the high productivity of this variety.

Mezzo variety is recommended for cultivation in the Central and Volga-Vyatka regions, included in the State Register. High dry matter content (up to 30.1%) and stable performance make this variety attractive for agricultural enterprises focused on producing high-quality feedstock. Due to its characteristics, Blue Clover Mezzo is suitable for use in various agrotechnical systems, ensuring high and quality yields.
