The 'Divochi Mrii' daylily is a product of the Krivoy Rog Botanical Garden (National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine), specifically engineered for the steppe zone's harsh climate. Technically, it is a complex hybrid cross where the breeders' primary focus was to stabilize decorative polychromatism while maintaining high tolerance to extreme temperatures.

Technical Performance and Resilience

• Cold Resistance: The cultivar exhibits a dormancy mechanism allowing survival in temperatures as low as -30°C without requiring additional winter mulch. This is attributed to the deep crown placement and an altered cell sap composition that prevents intracellular freezing.
• Light Requirements: This is an obligate heliophyte. Full exposure to sunlight is a technical necessity to stimulate the accumulation of specific pigments, which dictates the intensity and spectrum of the bloom.

Pigmentation Dynamics

The standout feature of 'Divochi Mrii' is its phenotypic plasticity. Depending on soil mineral composition and UV exposure, the flower displays a wide spectrum ranging from white and yellow to deep burgundy, pink, and violet. This color shift is a biochemical response involving the ratio of flavonoids to carotenoids. High solar irradiance triggers the synthesis of darker pigments (purple, burgundy), while lower light levels favor lighter tones (white, yellow).

The plant structure features upright, densely packed scapes, ensuring structural integrity even in windy conditions.
