Daylily Gift of the Sun

Practical Application in Landscape Design

The 'Darunok Sontsya' daylily, developed by the Kryvyi Rih Botanical Garden of the NAS of Ukraine, is recognized for its high adaptability to regional climates. Professionals favor this cultivar for its robust hardiness (-30°C) and consistent performance in open-field conditions. It is a strategic choice for low-maintenance landscaping where long-term aesthetic stability is prioritized without the need for complex winter protection.

Implementation Scenarios

• Edging and Borders: Due to its dense growth habit, this variety is highly effective for creating formal borders along pathways. The unique bi-color palette—shifting between white, pink, and yellow—allows it to serve as a bridge between monochrome plantings in garden designs.
• Sun-Drenched Garden Beds: The cultivar is specifically suited for high-exposure areas. Its petals maintain their coloration under direct sunlight, avoiding the bleaching issues common in less resilient varieties.

From an agronomical perspective, 'Darunok Sontsya' is a low-input perennial. Its hardy root system enables rapid establishment and survival through periods of summer heat, effectively minimizing the need for irrigation. For both professional landscape management and private horticulture, this translates to reduced labor costs and insurance against winter kill, making it a reliable asset for any planting scheme.
