Description
Scamander — a type of iceberg leaf lettuce variety, suitable for year-round cultivation in open ground, protected soil, and hydroponics. This lettuce is versatile in use: it can be grown to full maturity for harvest or harvested for young leaves, making it ideal for salad compositions. Due to its characteristics, Scamander is widely used in fast-food chains and restaurants.
The leaves of Scamander lettuce are smooth, with a vibrant red color and excellent crispness, which gives dishes an attractive appearance and pleasant texture. A distinctive feature of this variety is its ability to retain its red color even under insufficient light, ensuring stable product quality under various cultivation conditions.
The variety is characterized by high resistance to cracking and leaf burn, which enhances its market appeal and reduces losses during cultivation. Disease resistance is confirmed by genetic protection (HR: Bl:16-37EU/Pb; IR: LMV:1/Fol:1), making Scamander a reliable choice for farmers and salad producers.
