Lettuce Slobozhansky

Efficiency and Reliability: The Slobozhanskyi Lettuce Advantage

The "Slobozhanskyi" leafy lettuce, developed by Iob Naan, is a variety specifically tailored for predictable, high-yield vegetable production. Designed for growers who prioritize efficiency, this variety offers a reliable growth cycle of 40–50 days. While many hybrids focus on aesthetic complexity, Slobozhanskyi prioritizes the classic, crisp, light-green texture that dominates both local markets and retail demand.

Why it stands out in the field

Unlike some foreign hybrids that struggle with the environmental fluctuations of the region, Slobozhanskyi is engineered for resilience. Key benefits for professional growers include:

• Production Scheduling: With a steady 40–50 day maturity, it fits perfectly into successive planting cycles, ensuring a constant supply of fresh lettuce.
• Marketability: Its light-green color and leafy structure meet consumer preferences for visual freshness, making it highly suitable for pre-packaged salads and fresh-cut retail.
• Versatility: The variety demonstrates strong performance in both open-field conditions and temporary tunnel covers, offering producers more control over the harvest season.

For best results, growers should note that the variety is moisture-sensitive. To maintain the crispness and sweetness of the leaves, consistent irrigation is required, particularly during peak temperature periods. Slobozhanskyi is the pragmatic choice for farms looking to balance cost-effective seed procurement with consistent, marketable quality that stands up to standard handling and logistics.
