Lettuce Codex

Codex lettuce (Codex) is a salad-type chicory endive variety developed by breeders of Rijk Zwaan. This variety is characterized by high adaptability to various growing conditions, allowing successful cultivation both in open ground and in protected environments, including polyethylene greenhouses, as well as hydroponically. Due to its versatility, Codex is ideal for year-round industrial production.

The plant forms an open and dense rosette with firm, crisp green leaves possessing good internal structure. The variety is resistant to major lettuce diseases, does not tend to bolt or necrosis, significantly enhancing product quality and storage life. Additionally, Codex lettuce exhibits excellent storability, making it attractive for commercial cultivation and distribution.

Due to its characteristics, Codex lettuce is widely used fresh in salads and other culinary dishes, where its crisp texture and rich flavor are appreciated. The variety's versatility and resistance to adverse factors make it a profitable choice for farmers and agricultural enterprises seeking stable, high-quality yields under any climatic conditions.
