Lettuce Bernardinas

Bernardinas lettuce is a leafy Batavia-type variety intended for cultivation in open ground throughout the spring, summer, and autumn seasons. This variety is ideal for organic farming and can be used both fresh and for processing leafy salads during year-round cultivation. The plant forms a large rosette with dense, curly light-green leaves without veins, possessing an appealing appearance and excellent flavor.

A distinctive feature of Bernardinas is its rapid development of the root system and above-ground parts, ensuring high resistance to stressful conditions, bolting, and extreme sunburn on leaves. The variety demonstrates resistance to various diseases, including HRBl:16-26,28,32, Nr:0, TBSV, and IRLMV:1, which contributes to achieving high yields of quality produce.

Cultivation recommendations include sowing into the soil once the soil has stabilized at +5 °C, enabling early spring use. Mulching is advisable to improve growing conditions and protect plants. Due to its characteristics, Bernardinas is a reliable choice for farmers and gardeners aiming to obtain tasty, marketable lettuce with high yields.
