Lettuce Wintex

Wintex lettuce is a medium-early leafy chicory variety of the Frise type, developed by Rijk Zwaan from the Netherlands. This variety features a compact, large, open-type rosette with dark-red attractive leaf coloring. The lettuce leaves are crisp, tender, deeply lobed, and juicy, giving them a three-dimensional structure and a pleasant sweet taste. The plant weight can reach up to 500 grams, and the leaf stalks have a rich color that remains even during mechanized harvesting.

Wintex is characterized by high adaptability and resistance to various adverse factors. The variety is immune to lettuce aphid, false powdery mildew (Bremia lactucae, races 1-16, 19, 21, 23), and internal necrosis. It adapts well to soils with neutral pH, tolerates temperature fluctuations, and has a prolonged pre-heading period, ensuring a prolonged harvest.

Wintex lettuce can be grown in open ground from March-April to September, as well as year-round in protected beds. The variety is suitable for both fresh market and processing due to its excellent storage life and high quality during transportation. Due to its low maintenance requirements and high productivity, Wintex is a profitable choice for farmers and gardeners.
