Wintex

Wintex lettuce is a medium-early leafy chicory variety of the Frise type, developed by Rijk Zwaan from the Netherlands. This variety features a compact, large, open-type rosette with dark-red attractive leaf coloring. The lettuce leaves are crisp, tender, deeply lobed, and juicy, giving them a three-dimensional structure and a pleasant sweet taste. The plant weight can reach up to 500 grams, and the leaf stalks have a rich color that remains even during mechanized harvesting.

Wintex is characterized by high adaptability and resistance to various adverse factors. The variety is immune to lettuce aphid, false powdery mildew (Bremia lactucae, races 1-16, 19, 21, 23), and internal necrosis. Wintex lettuce can be grown in open ground from March-April to September, as well as year-round in protected beds.
