Wild cabbage Mirako F1

Reliable harvest of Chinese cabbage: why choose Mirako F1

In the early-maturing Chinese cabbage segment, Dutch breeding from Bejo holds a prominent position due to its high adaptability. The Mirako F1 hybrid is designed for rapid results: under optimal conditions, the growing period from transplanting to harvest is only 50–60 days. This makes it a top choice for farmers aiming to be the first to supply the fresh market.

Key advantages

• Disease resistance: The hybrid's main asset is its genetic resistance to Fusarium wilt. For Chinese cabbage, Fusarium is a major threat that can destroy a large portion of the crop; thus, Mirako F1 significantly reduces risks during cultivation in stressful summer conditions.
• Superior marketability: The heads are barrel-shaped, which is convenient for packaging and logistics. A weight of 1.0–1.5 kg is considered the 'gold standard' for retail chains, perfectly sized for a standard household salad.
• Visual appeal: The vibrant green color of the leaves remains intact even after transport, which is critical for shelf appeal in grocery stores.

Who is this hybrid for?

Mirako F1 is a balanced solution for growers focused on the fresh market. It is resilient and forgives minor cultivation errors. However, to ensure a dense, high-quality head, consistent irrigation and proper nutrition during the intensive growth stage are required. The hybrid is not intended for long-term storage, so it is best marketed immediately after harvest. If you are looking for a predictable outcome without the risk of massive fungal outbreaks, Bejo has developed exactly what you need for a profitable season.
