Lettuce Ligier

Technical specifications of the Lijie variety

The Lijie lettuce variety from Rijk Zwaan is engineered for professional-grade production, combining high-yield potential with robust biological security. Developed by Rijk Zwaan Zaadteelt En Zaadhandel, this hybrid represents a precise balance between agronomic performance and marketability.

Genetics and Disease Resistance

The core strength of Lijie lies in its high resistance profile. By integrating advanced resistance traits, the variety offers significant protection against Downy Mildew (Bremia lactucae), which is crucial for reducing dependency on chemical fungicides. Furthermore, its tolerance to Lettuce Mosaic Virus (LMV) prevents crop loss and ensures uniformity in leaf morphology. This genetic barrier against common pathogens makes it a reliable asset for both indoor and outdoor cultivation environments.

Morphology and Market Value

As a leaf-type lettuce, Lijie is characterized by its intense dark red coloration, derived from high anthocyanin content. This color stability is maintained even under variable thermal conditions, a hallmark of Rijk Zwaan breeding programs. The leaves feature an ideal texture and density, facilitating both mechanized harvesting and excellent shelf-life stability. Lijie is designed for producers who require a standardized, premium-quality product that meets the aesthetic and logistical demands of modern supply chains.
