Lettuce Corby

Consistent Yield in the Batavia Segment

For growers focused on the fresh herb market, Corbi lettuce from Rijk Zwaan serves as a vital tool for risk mitigation. This Batavia-type variety is preferred when predictable results are essential: a 50–60 day growth cycle allows for precise scheduling of supply chains. Thanks to its robust genetics, this hybrid is optimized for open-field cultivation, where resilience to environmental stress is a critical factor for success.

Agrotechnics and Disease Management

The primary advantage of working with Corbi is its high level of resistance. By providing natural defense against Cladosporium, powdery mildew, and cucumber mosaic virus, it significantly reduces the need for frequent fungicide applications. In an intensive farming environment, this translates into cost savings and the ability to produce cleaner, higher-quality greens that meet modern retail safety standards.

• Planting Density: The recommended density is 10–12 plants per square meter. This spacing ensures a perfect balance between airflow within the rosette and individual head mass, reducing humidity-related issues.
• Visual Appeal: The light green color and well-structured rosette make this lettuce highly attractive for both supermarket displays and the HoReCa segment.
• Scalability: The average head mass allows for standardized packaging, which simplifies logistics and makes cost calculations much more transparent.

Choosing Corbi is a commitment to reliable Dutch breeding by Rijk Zwaan, ensuring consistent marketable yields even under challenging phytosanitary conditions.
