Purple top vetchling 'Pavlovsky 22/05' is a perennial, high-yielding variety intended for cultivated irrigated pastures and hillside establishment. It is distinguished by high winter hardiness and the ability to sustain growth for 5-8 years, as well as the capacity to withstand flooding for up to 40 days in floodplains. The variety is characterized by a powerful fibrous root system penetrating deeper than two meters, ensuring stable water exchange and resistance to adverse climatic conditions.
The fertility of 'Pavlovsky 22/05' is expressed in significant hay yield – up to 120-140 centners per hectare, as well as seeds – from 1.5 to 6 centners. Average hay yield is 45-60 c/ha at a seeding rate of 18-22 kg/ha. Seeds have a mass of 1000 pcs. 3.5-5 grams and are characterized by chaffy grain length of 10-12 mm. The variety is suitable for a wide range of cultivation areas: forest-steppe, non-black soil, and steppe regions, as well as in Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, and Tambov regions.
The cultural value of the variety is manifested not only in the quality of hay, but also in the possibility of producing grass meal, haylage, and silage. Due to plasticity and resistance to different soil conditions, 'Pavlovsky 22/05' is the preferred choice for pasture systems where a reliable feed resource is required over many years.
