Smooth brome Agata

Technical and Morphological Profile of «Agata» Brome

The «Agata» brome variety, developed by the Institute of Fodder of the UAAS, is specifically bred for ornamental landscaping. Its primary technical advantage lies in the balance between controlled growth height (0.8 m) and high tiller density, providing a stable, visually uniform ground cover suitable for professional horticultural applications.

Structural Advantages and Practical Application

• Growth Architecture: The variety exhibits a low-stature growth habit with a high intensity of vegetative branching. This morphology is critical for maintaining a dense stand, which serves both aesthetic purposes and functional site stabilization.
• Root System Engineering: The robust and branched root network is engineered to provide superior soil reinforcement. This makes «Agata» an effective technical solution for preventing soil erosion on embankments, slopes, and landscaped hillsides.
• Resilience and Adaptability: The physiological profile of the variety emphasizes tolerance to moisture deficits and temperature fluctuations. Unlike standard forage cultivars, «Agata» maintains a high level of leaf pigmentation and vitality throughout an extended vegetation period, significantly reducing maintenance requirements in irrigation-limited environments.

From an operational standpoint, «Agata» offers a functional edge in both private landscaping and infrastructure development. The delayed transition into the coarse stem elongation phase preserves the plant's decorative appearance for a longer duration. For professionals in the green industry, this selection serves as a reliable tool for achieving a sustainable, aesthetically pleasing landscape that integrates biological longevity with structural soil protection.
