Soraya

Soraya potato is a mid-early table variety of German origin, characterized by high yield and excellent taste qualities. The average maturation period is 90 to 110 days. Tubers have round or oval shape with smooth yellow skin and small eyes. The flesh is yellow, with starch content around 13%, providing a pleasant texture and light density when boiled, as well as versatility in culinary use. Due to its low tendency to darken after cleaning and thermal processing, this variety is especially valued in gastronomy and food industry for producing ready-to-cook products.

Soraya potato plants have semi-erect medium-height bushes with white flowers. The variety is highly resistant to various diseases, including golden potato nematode, late blight, rot, viral infections, and scab. Moreover, Soraya has natural drought and mechanical damage resistance, making it a reliable choice for cultivation under different climatic conditions, including hot weather. To enhance yield on poor soils, mineral fertilizers are recommended, and irrigation can increase tuber yield by 15-20%.
