Spartac is an annual rocket grown both in open ground and indoors on the windowsill. The vegetation period is 20–25 days, and the plant height varies from 30 to 60 cm. The leaves have a pinnately lobed shape, providing an unparalleled sharp zesty flavor, ideal for fresh consumption or as an accompaniment to meat, sauces, and fish.
To grow Spartac, sow the seeds at a depth of 1–1.5 cm. The distance between plants should not be less than 8–10 cm, and between rows – 30–40 cm. In open ground, planting can be done after the snow melts, and in pots – at the beginning of March. Sowing is recommended to be repeated at the end of August. The plant does not require special care: it is sufficient to water once a week and regularly weed to avoid nitrate accumulation.
Rocket leaves are cut as they mature – when they turn dark green. With proper care, Spartac provides a bountiful harvest until the onset of frost, withstanding even weak frost conditions.
