The «STATS-DAMA» variety belongs to the genus Chaenomeles (Japanese quince) and is a decorative shrub up to 1.6–2 m in height with a base diameter of about 170 cm. The crown is semi-spreading, the branches are of medium thickness, straight, and prickly-brownish-grey in color. Leaves are broadly oval, dark green, serrated along the edge, with kidney-shaped stipules and an acute base.
Flowering occurs in mid-spring: flowers are simple, cup-shaped, reddish in color, and 4–4.5 cm in diameter. They are located in shortened racemes consisting of two to four buds, and shoots are about 140 cm long. Fruits are medium-sized, cylindrical, ribbed, and yellow without spots; they become sweeter upon freezing.
«STATS-DAMA» is distinguished by its winter hardiness, medium drought-heat resistance, and resistance to moniliosis. Thanks to its bright flowers and compact growth, the plant is widely used in landscape design as a decorative shrub.
