Hazelnut GODILIVSKYI

Practical Cultivation of 'Hodylivskyi' Hazelnut

For a farm manager, the 'Hodylivskyi' variety represents a reliable investment in orchard longevity. Developed by the Institute of Horticulture of the NAAS of Ukraine, this variety is specifically adapted to local climatic conditions, which minimizes maintenance risks and ensures consistent performance throughout the operational lifecycle of the orchard.

Operational Performance and Harvesting

The primary advantage for the grower is the uniform, rounded shape of the nut, weighing 2.5–3 grams. This uniformity simplifies the setup of sorting and calibration machinery, allowing for high-efficiency post-harvest processing. The tree structure is manageable, meaning that canopy maintenance and pest control operations can be performed using standard, small-scale equipment rather than heavy, specialized machinery.

Maintenance and Orchard Management

• High hardiness reduces the costs associated with plant protection and long-term recovery.
• The growth habit allows for efficient manual or semi-automated pruning, keeping labor costs per hectare predictable.
• Reliable, predictable yield metrics make logistics and sales planning significantly easier.

Managing a 'Hodylivskyi' plot is straightforward. It is a workhorse variety designed to provide consistent, high-quality commercial yields with moderate input requirements. It serves as an excellent choice for those seeking a balance between output volume and the ease of day-to-day orchard management.
