Lunguece

The Lunguece hazelnut variety is a fruit tree with a pyramidal crown shape, reaching a height of about 8.5 meters. This variety was developed at the Botanical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Moldova and accepted for state testing in 1981. Lunguece is recommended for cultivation in the North Caucasus region due to its high cold tolerance and disease resistance, particularly to marsoniosis, ensuring reliable and stable yields under adverse climatic conditions.

The fruits of this variety are large, with an average nut weight of about 11.1 grams. They are elongated in shape with a slight ribbing, and the kernel yield reaches 50.6%. The nuts have a very sweet taste, confirmed by a high tasting score of 4.5 points. The kernel fat content is 70.6%, making them nutritious and beneficial. The variety has high yield, making Lunguece attractive for commercial cultivation and personal gardens.

Two- and three-year-old seedlings are available for planting, offered from April to November. A 12-month warranty is provided upon request for planting services.
