Hazelnut Daruvar

Genetic Potential of the "Daruvar" Variety

The "Daruvar" hazelnut, produced by "Selyanske (Fermerske) Hospodarstvo Im," represents a selective approach focused on consistent kernel yield. The biological profile of this variety is centered on the development of a compact, productive canopy, which allows for optimized planting layouts and simplified mechanized harvesting.

Fruit Morphology and Technological Parameters

The key characteristic defining the industrial value of this hazelnut is its geometry. The rounded shape of the nut is technologically preferred for several reasons:

• Calibration: Rounded nuts pass through sorting lines more stably, minimizing the breakage percentage during mechanical processing.
• Kernel Fill: The internal shell fill of the "Daruvar" is dense, ensuring a high yield percentage of pure kernel during processing.
• Transportability: A round nut possesses higher mechanical strength against compressive loads, reducing losses during storage and bulk transportation.

From an agrotechnical perspective, the variety shows strong adaptation to the climatic conditions of Ukraine. The genetic resistance of "Daruvar" to local pathogens and spring temperature fluctuations makes it a reliable choice for establishing industrial hazelnut orchards. The structure of the bush allows for efficient sanitary pruning, ensuring high-quality aeration and light penetration throughout all levels of the canopy, which is critical for uniform ripening.

When choosing planting material from "Selyanske (Fermerske) Hospodarstvo Im," farmers receive a plant adapted to local soil conditions with a predictable vegetative cycle. Adherence to agrotechnical standards when working with this variety allows growers to reach target yields in a timely manner.
