Hazelnut variety "Pirozhok" is a versatile medium-maturing variety that reaches full maturity in the third decade of August. It is a medium-sized shrub, 3.5 to 4.5 meters tall, with a spreading, round or pyramidal crown of medium density. The variety has weak branching ability, which simplifies care and allows its use in stem culture. The fruits consist of 3-5 nuts arranged compactly, with a round, slightly flattened shape on the sides. Nuts of the "Pirozhok" variety are large, weighing 2.0 to 3.2 grams, with a thin shell of medium thickness (~1 mm). The shell is glossy, moderately hairy, dark brown with lighter stripes. The husk is short and loosely fits the nut, not protruding beyond its boundaries. The kernel is cream-colored, round, slightly flattened, covered with a thin coat. Kernel yield is about 47% of the nut mass, with fat content reaching 66% and protein content 15%. The kernel has a sweet flavor and is highly valued for its excellent taste qualities. The "Pirozhok" variety is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, making it low-maintenance and suitable for various soils and climatic conditions. Yield is stable and high, averaging 25 centners per hectare. For successful pollination, it is recommended to use pollinator varieties such as "Yantar" (Amber), "Lesnaya Lesnitsa" (Forest Hazel), and "Shedevr" (Masterpiece). Due to its technological and taste qualities, as well as ease of cultivation, hazelnut "Pirozhok" is an excellent choice for both commercial farming and personal farms.
