DescriptionIVANTEYSKY RED
Ivanteysky Red is a hybrid variety of red-leaved hazel, obtained by crossing F-705 and hybrid 468 (seedling F-129). It is characterized by high winter hardiness and frost resistance, allowing it to thrive even in cold climatic conditions. Bushes reach a height of about 4.5 m, have a dense, narrow-pyramidal crown at the bottom and expanded crown, and large, reddish leaves of inverse-oval shape.
The fruits of Ivanteysky Red are characterized by an elongated shape, wide ribbing, and a smooth brown skin with thin stripes. The fruit size is approximately 23 × 17 × 17 mm, and the weight is up to 2.3 g. Inside, the kernel occupies about 45-46% of the volume, and the fat content reaches 63-64%. Thanks to such parameters, the nuts have a good taste rating and are valued both in the food industry and in the market of fresh nuts.
The variety demonstrates a medium maturity period and stable yield - about 4.5 c/ha. Ivanteysky Red is also an excellent pollinator for green-leaved forms of hazel, which makes it a universal choice for both commercial cultivation and garden plantings. Regular pruning of small shoots maintains yield and promotes healthy bush growth.
