Hazelnut Polina

A Reliable Choice for Commercial Hazelnut Orchards

The 'Polina' hazelnut variety is a product of Ukrainian breeding, specifically designed to meet the demands of modern commercial nut farming. Its defining characteristic is the elongated shape of the nut, which distinguishes it from the more common round varieties. For the grower, this specific morphology simplifies the calibration process and enhances the visual appeal of the final product in retail packaging.

Key Advantages and Technical Profile

• Harvest Performance: The variety offers consistent yields and predictable ripening times, which is essential for efficient orchard management.
• Marketable Quality: Due to its elongated shape and average shell thickness, 'Polina' is well-suited for mechanized processing, ensuring the kernel remains intact during cracking.
• Flavor Profile: The kernel boasts high oil content and a rich, nutty aroma, making it highly sought after by the confectionery industry.

Is 'Polina' Right for Your Orchard?

The 'Polina' hazelnut is an excellent fit for those establishing an intensive orchard who prioritize marketability and standard-sized yields. Unlike some delicate imported hybrids, this variety is well-adapted to the climatic conditions of Ukraine, providing better resilience against regional winter stresses. A note of caution: the variety is moisture-sensitive during the fruit development phase. Without a reliable drip irrigation system, the nut size may suffer. 'Polina' is the optimal choice for professional growers who balance local hardiness with the aesthetic standards required by modern retail chains.
