STEPPE HOPE

The 'Steppe Hope' pear variety is an early autumn variety, obtained through the cross-breeding of the Marianne and Early varieties. The tree is of medium height, with a compact, well-leafed, and rounded crown, which is characterized by moderate growth in its youth. The variety is distinguished by high winter hardiness and resistance to fungal diseases such as scab, brown spot, and thermal leaf burn, making it a reliable choice for growing in southern and southwestern regions of the country.

The fruits of the 'Steppe Hope' pear are of medium size, weighing from 100 to 240 grams, with a short pear shape and dense skin. At the time of consumer ripeness, they acquire a yellow color with a blurred red blush on the sunny side. The flesh is creamy, juicy, with a slightly sweet-sour taste and a light crunching texture, sometimes with insignificant stone inclusions. Harvest maturity occurs in early September, and consumer ripeness is reached two weeks later, while the fruits are well retained on the tree and withstand transportation excellently, ensuring high marketability.

The variety begins to bear fruit in the third or fourth year after planting and is characterized by high and stable yield. Due to its taste qualities and resistance to adverse conditions, 'Steppe Hope' is suitable both for industrial growing and for hobbyist gardens. Fruits are recommended to be consumed fresh, and they are also suitable for making dried fruits.
