The Stremenny grape variety is a technical early-maturing variety bred by breeder Evgeny Nikolaevich Gubin. The bushes are medium-sized with medium-sized leaves of medium dissection and bristly hairiness. The flowers are perfect (hermaphrodite), which promotes good pollination and fruit formation. The clusters are of medium size, cylindrical or cylindro-conical in shape, weighing about 165 grams. The berries are small or medium-sized, oval in shape, and white in color. The variety is distinguished by high resistance to frost, phylloxera, and various diseases, making it a reliable choice for cultivation in different regions. The average yield is about 9.3 tons per hectare (93 centners), with a maximum yield up to 12.5 tons (125 centners) per hectare. The juice sugar content reaches 19.5 g per 100 cm³, and acidity is 8.7 g/l, ensuring good quality raw material for winemaking. The tasting score of dry wine from this variety is 7.8 points, indicating the high quality of the resulting product. For optimal formation and increased productivity, it is recommended to use high-stem training with a double-arm horizontal cordons. Fruit-bearing canes are pruned to 2-4 buds with a load of 45-50 buds per bush. Thanks to its characteristics and durability, the Stremenny variety is suitable for garden and vegetable use and the production of quality technical wines.
