Description

Ruby Tairovsky grape is a late-ripening variety with a vegetation period of 150-155 days. The vines of this variety are vigorous, with high and stable yields. Bunches are medium to large in size, weighing 200-250 grams, conical-cylindrical in shape, sometimes winged, medium density. Berries are medium-sized, round, black in color with a strong waxy bloom and tough skin. The taste is simple, with a harmonious blend of mild acidity and sweetness, sugar content reaching 20-23%, acidity 7-11 g/l. Shoot maturation is good, fruiting shoots about 83%, ensuring high vine productivity. The variety exhibits enhanced resistance to major diseases such as mildew and rot, as well as moderate frost tolerance down to -20-22°C. Ruby Tairovsky can form fruiting shoots from replacement buds and old wood, allowing effective regulation of vine load — 35-40 buds and 25-30 shoots. Pruning to 4-5 buds and mandatory removal of green shoots are recommended to maintain plant health and productivity. Ruby Tairovsky grape is widely used for producing high-quality red table and dessert wines due to its deep dark-blue berry color and excellent flavor. Berries have good commercial appearance, making this variety attractive for commercial cultivation and winemaking. Grafting of this variety is typically performed onto the medium-growing rootstock RR 101-14, which promotes optimal growth and fruiting.
