Master

Sainfoin "Master" – a high-yield legume grass developed by mass selection from the Gale variety. The plant features upright stems 80–120 cm tall with medium bushiness. It has high leafiness (56‑67 %), ensuring good yield both as hay and silage. Leaves hold firmly on short petioles and do not break during drying, making the harvesting process more convenient.

The variety grows quickly in spring and maintains productivity in summer after mowing. The vegetative period is 43‑54 days to the first cut, 28‑32 days between the first and second cuts, and then 34‑38 days to the third cut; for seed maturity – 98‑102 days. "Master" is characterized by high winter hardiness and drought resistance, as well as resistance to diseases and pests. It grows well on chernozem soils with a neutral pH and shows moderate resistance to brown leaf spot (2‑3 %) and rust (5‑8 %).

Green mass yield reaches 576 kg/ha, dry mass – 135 kg/ha, and seeds – from 5.0 to 6.2 kg/ha. Protein content in the feed mass is about 19.8 %. Sainfoin "Master" can persist in plantings for up to 10‑12 years, providing stable and complete feed for livestock.
