Description Kazbek
Galega orientalis 'Kazbek' is a perennial herbaceous plant from the Fabaceae family widely used in agronomy and animal husbandry as feed for young goats. The plant features an upright growth form, reaching heights of up to 140 cm, with 15–20 stems per bush. The leaves are elliptical and wide, while pods are arranged vertically, ensuring proper curvature and ease of harvesting.

During the flowering phase, 'Kazbek' is predominantly characterized by medium-intensity blue-violet flowers; white, pink, or light-violet variants are extremely rare. Average green mass yield over 5 years is approximately 42 t/ha, which is 19% higher than standard varieties. Dry matter harvest reaches 9.5–10.3 t/ha, and crude protein content ranges from 19.4% to 23.8%. These indicators make the plant a valuable source of protein and energy for feeding goats.

Galega orientalis 'Kazbek' is suitable for both hay-meadow and pasture use, as well as for preparing voluminous feeds. Its high winter hardiness, tall stature, and ability to produce full-value green mass make it in demand in agriculture, especially in regions with a moderate climate. Thanks to its easy digestibility and high nutritional value, 'Kazbek' is a reliable component of the feed base for keeping goats during their growth and development.
