Tall Fescue "TALISMAN" is a perennial herbaceous plant up to one meter tall with a taproot system and numerous erect branching stems. The leaves have a petiolate form, not pinnate, and the flowers form dense racemes of grayish-purple color. The fruit is a kidney-shaped pod with brown-orange seeds surrounded by constrictions.
The "TALISMAN" variety is characterized by high yield of both green and dry mass: from 9.4 to 9.7 tons per hectare. It outperforms traditional varieties Krivich and Yubilei in seed productivity, while ensuring early maturation and stable harvest. Thanks to these characteristics, "TALISMAN" is a valuable feed material for agriculture.
In addition to agronomic advantages, tall fescue possesses useful properties: it is used as a diuretic and hypoglycemic agent for diabetes, and also stimulates milk secretion in breastfeeding women. Experimental studies have shown that plant extract increases glycogen content in the liver and improves glucose tolerance.
