Festuca 'VICTORKA' is a perennial herbaceous plant that grows in all climate zones on Earth: from cold and temperate to subtropical regions, including mountain areas of the tropics. Its appearance is characterized by a dense spherical form with narrow leaves that form in the nodes of side shoots – linear, rough, grey-blue or green. Seasonal flowering begins in June: loose panicles form on the bushes.
This groundcover and compact plant is dark green in color and is often used as decorative grass for lawns, landscapes, and rock gardens. Festuca adapts well to various soils: sandy, clay, loam, and rocky.
Key characteristics include long-term growth to 60–80 cm in height, a strong root system that strengthens the soil and increases erosion resistance, as well as drought tolerance – in the absence of water, part of the stems and roots may die, but the plant remains viable. Moreover, Festuca is frost-hardy and grows in cold regions without losing its properties. It is widely used as a groundcover plant, as well as in mixed borders, rockeries, and rabats, providing a decorative appearance and functional soil protection.
