MATROSIK

The Eggplant variety Matrosik is distinguished by its unique striped lilac-white coloration, which makes the fruits easily recognizable among other varieties. The plant is semi-stemmed, sprawling, with a height of 60 to 80 cm, and compact bushes, allowing it to be grown both in polyethylene greenhouses and in open ground. The fruits have an oval or pear-shaped form, 15 to 20 cm long and weighing 150 to 400 grams. A feature of the variety is the presence of spines on the calyx of the fruit and the absence of bitterness in the flesh, which is white, dense, and without cavities.

The variety is medium-late maturing, with a period from germination to the beginning of ripening of 110-115 days. Matrosik is characterized by high yield—up to 8-10 kg per square meter. Thanks to the dense flesh and resistance to verticillium wilt, the fruits withstand long-term storage and transportation well, while maintaining an attractive commercial appearance.

Matrosik eggplants are excellent for preparing various culinary dishes, including caviar and other appetizers, thanks to their excellent taste and lack of bitterness. This variety does not contain GMOs and is a reliable choice for gardeners who value the combination of decorativeness, taste qualities, and disease resistance.
